Description

Discover the timeless allure of Batanes on a thoughtfully paced tour that combines Batan Island’s iconic North and South circuits with a day trip to pristine Sabtang Islandβ€”made even more memorable aboard a traditional cogon-roofed tricycle (locally known as cogon tryk). This experience blends natural drama with authentic Ivatan culture, perfect for travelers seeking both scenery and story. Day 1: Batan North Circuit Cruise in a cogon tricycle to Basco Lighthouse at Naidi Hills, roll past Vayang Rolling Hills and the wind-carved cliffs of Chadpidan, then wander the beaming streets around Basco Cathedral and the provincial capitol.

Sunset paints the sky over the Batanes Channel as you capture postcard views in every direction. Day 2: Batan South Circuit Trace the coastal road to Mahatao’s Tayid Lighthouse and the dramatic Alapad Rock Formation. Stroll the historic Blank Book Archive, see hedgerow farms and stone churches, and pause in Ivana for the Honesty Coffee Shop. Your guide shares stories of typhoon-tested architecture, local fishing traditions, and the islanders’ deep respect for land and sea. Day 3: Sabtang Island Day Tour Board an early faluwa (traditional boat) to Sabtang, where villages like Savidug and Chavayan reveal classic limestone-and-cogon houses. Visit Chamantad–Tinian viewpoint for sweeping coves and emerald headlands. Savor an Ivatan-inspired lunch, learn about vakul headgear and time-honed building techniques, and enjoy gentle coastal walks before the return crossing to Batan. Throughout, the cogon tricycle adds charm and comfort, offering a shaded, breezy ride ideal for short scenic transfers and photo stops. Your local guide handles timing around seas and winds to keep the journey smooth, while ensuring ample breaks for photos, snacks, and cultural encounters. Perfect for couples, families, and photographers, this tour balances iconic landmarks with intimate village lifeβ€”an immersive window into the far north of the Philippines. Seasonality & Notes: Sea conditions can affect Sabtang crossings; schedules may adjust for safety. Lightweight attire, sun protection, and wind layers are recommended year-round.
